EDGE’s Frequently Asked Questions:

What is mobile concierge physical therapy?

Mobile concierge physical therapy means that your physical therapist will provide rehabilitation treatments in the comfort of your own home.

Do I need a referral/script from my doctor?

You do not need a referral to be evaluated by a licensed physical therapist in the state of Pennsylvania. However, we do require the contact information of your physician who saw you last for your primary condition. After the evaluation, we will reach out to the physician to obtain a referral for your follow up sessions to get you started on your recovery journey. If you already have a referral from a physician, just bring it with you to your first visit!

What types of payment are accepted by EDGE Physical Therapy and Wellness?

EDGE Physical Therapy and Wellness is an out-of-network provider, and EDGE Physical Therapy and Wellness does not have a preferred provider/contracted status with insurance companies. As a result, patients will receive optimal patient care, and the therapist is not forced to limit the quality of treatment or the time of treatment secondary to insurance company restrictions. EDGE Physical Therapy and Wellness rates are reflective of the provider's experience and education, competition in the market, and are not elevated to pay for administrative personnel or billing services. An invoice for services received will be provided at the patient's request, and the patient can submit the invoice to insurance for reimbursement. EDGE Physical Therapy and Wellness accepts cash, check, PayPal, and Venmo (Cash or check is preferred.).

What if I need to cancel an appointment?

If you should need to cancel an appointment, please reach out to your physical therapist at least 24 hours prior to your appointment time. If client is unable to cancel in this timeframe, the client will be billed a $50 cancellation fee (medical emergencies accepted).

If you do not show up for a scheduled appointment without notice, you will be charged for the full price of your visit. Cancelling within 24 hours, or not showing for your appointment, has a serious impact on the clinic, and prohibits another person from having the appointment.

How many visits will I need?

Everyone’s recovery journey is a little different and it will vary based upon the type of injury. EDGE PT offers a special type of package that include 10 visits at a time, but is not limited to 10. Because we do not have to abide by the constraints of insurance companies, you can receive as many physical therapy visits a year as you feel you need. This allows the client to use them as frequently or spaced out as they would like. Everyone’s body is different and responds differently to therapeutic activities, the 10-visit package gives the client flexibility for their needs. On average, most clients recover within 6-8 weeks. Some clients opt to continue after this with a wellness package to enhance their therapeutic gains.

What should I wear to a physical therapy session?

Appropriate attire for a physical therapy session should include athletic footwear, pants and shirts to allow easy access to treatment area(s).

What should I expect of concierge services?

Your physical therapist will arrive approximately 10 minutes prior to appointment time to set up your treatment space. The physical therapist will bring any necessary equipment, as well as a portable massage table for manual treatments. If the client prefers to use their own personal equipment, the physical therapist will happily do so during their session.

How long does a physical therapy session last?
